Our Team

Chris Seaton

Executive Director

Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax

An Arlington county foster parent, Chris is passionate about bringing the love of Christ to vulnerable children. She spends her time inspiring, recruiting, and resourcing churches to engage with the needs of the 5400+ children in Virginia foster care system and the 140 million children around the world needing a forever home. Prior to launching Project Belong VA, Chris spent seven years as the Missions Director at McLean Presbyterian Church. Chris enjoys pursuing adventure with her husband Scott, their three grown children, and her trusty (and spoiled) golden retriever Knox. Chris' husband, Scott, is the Pastor of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Arlington, which they moved up from Atlanta to plant in 2008.

Amber Cooper

Winchester Area Director

Amber resides in Stephens City with her husband and two littles. They moved to the area in 2014 right after getting married. They are newly adoptive parents and have done foster care for the last 3 years. Shortly after becoming foster parents, Amber got connected with another foster mom, and together they founded Foster Friends. There is now a thriving community of churches that regularly support the foster and adoptive community in Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke County. As a family, they enjoy playing with their two toddlers and getting outside. Amber's recent pandemic hobby has become watercolor painting when she gets a few minutes to herself.

Jaoni Wood

Loudoun County Director

Jaoni, her husband Gabe, and two biological sons fostered with Loudoun County from 2013-2019, welcoming 5 children into their home and adopting two of them. Through that process, Jaoni became convinced that faith communities need to know about the needs of vulnerable children and the ways that churches are uniquely able to meet many of those needs. As she began connecting with churches in Loudoun, she connected with Project Belong and ultimately brought Loudoun County churches into partnership with Project Belong. When not talking about foster care and adoption, reading on the beach is her favorite pastime.
