The Church is the HOPE of the national foster care and adoption crisis.
The church is uniquely positioned to respond to the foster care and adoption crisis. We believe there are enough Christian families to provide loving homes - be they a bridge back to the birth family or adoption - for every child in crisis.
We believe that true religion reflects God's heart by "caring for widows and orphans in their distress" as expressed in James 1:27. These truths are Project Belong's core foundation.
There are over 800 active churches in Metro NoVa. If each congregation took just one foster child, we could fill the system with Christians giving children in crisis a place to BELONG. Not only that, these children would be exposed to the truth of the Gospel - the very thing that will provide hope and transformation from the brokenness the children have experienced.
